Overview
This week focused on developing the water treatment strategy within my design proposal. During the tutorial, I explored how water moves through the site and how filtration systems could be integrated into the landscape both functionally and visually.
The sketches investigate a continuous circulation system where water is collected, filtered, oxygenated, and returned through a closed-loop process. This links directly to my wider design concept, where water becomes an active and visible element within the public realm.
A key takeaway from this session is that water infrastructure can become part of the spatial experience rather than remaining hidden underground.
The proposed system includes:
A surface skimmer to remove larger debris and leaves
A pump system that recirculates water through the site
A filtration zone using planting and stone substrate to naturally clean the water
