This tutorial focused on developing the technical report structure alongside further refinement of the canopy drainage system and retaining wall seating details. The session explored how technical drawings, construction details, and water management strategies could be organised within the report while continuing to strengthen the relationship between design and functionality.
The sketches investigated how rainwater moves through the tensile canopy structure, how retaining walls can become seating elements, and how the report sections should be structured and presented.
A key takeaway from this session is that technical detailing should clearly communicate how the landscape performs environmentally, structurally, and experientially.
The tutorial explored:
Water collection through tensile canopy structures
Retaining walls functioning as informal seating
Surface drainage and water channels
Organisation of the technical report sections
Hard landscape, soft landscape, and water management strategies
